Since its founding in 1988, Garrett Mechanical has been awarded some of the most prestigious construction projects in the State of Texas.
Garrett Mechanical served as general contractor during the initial phase of this landmark project, constructing the roads, laying the underground thermal piping, and performing all site utility work including storm drainage, water and sewer lines. In Phase 2, Manhattan Construction engaged GMI as subcontractors for the HVAC and plumbing needs of this 301,000-square foot, three-building complex spread out over 95 acres on the Texas A&M campus in College Station. The 2½-year, $14.5 million project has earned several national awards and commendations.
R.J. Griffin & Company chose GMI to serve as mechanical contractor for this 224-bed, state-of-the-art acute care facility in Port Arthur, Texas. GMI performed the HVAC and plumbing work for the eight-story, 315,675 square foot replacement hospital in just 13 months and within its $16 million budget.
GMI covered the full spectrum of mechanical contracting needs for this new campus project in San Antonio. Our crews buried several miles of thermal piping – enough to feed future building sites across the campus – and installed six tons of cooling capacity as part of the new central plant, which was up-and-running in just 12 months. The entire $25 million project also included a classroom and office structure, and a specialized medical building housing state-of-the-art laboratory and research facilities. Satterfield & Pontikes Construction selected GMI for this highly complex assignment.
GMI performed all of the HVAC and plumbing work for this major hospital expansion in Temple, TX, which encompassed five and eight-story medical towers totaling 520,000 square feet. The $24 million project, contracted by Manhattan Construction, was completed within budget in just 24 months.
